Game: Montreal vs New Jersey

Tomorrow is a very important game since Montreal hasn't been playing very well lately! We're also getting close to the playoffs and sitting in 6th spot makes me uneasy with so many injuries and having only a 2 point lead on the 7th and 8th place teams. As it sits right now we would be playing Boston in the first round which would make for an awesome series. Lets hope we can pull in a win tomorrow and get that much closer to securing a playoff spot. Wish I was there:

Game: Montreal vs Atlanta

It would be surprising for Atlanta to pull off a miracle rally to the postseason, but any hopes of doing the impossible would have to start right away. Doing so against a team that can't bury the biscuit could help, but the Canadiens, badly in need of a win and a confidence boost ahead of the postseason, should be just as desperate when two face off. -- NHL.com

We need a win bad and if we cant even seem to beat weaker teams like Atlanta I don't know what hope we can have! Here's a Subban fight to tide you over.

Game: Montreal vs Boston

The last two games between these teams have been highly contentious. There was bad blood long before Chara's hit on Pacioretty, as Boston and Montreal combined for 14 goals and 187 penalty minutes in the meeting before that, Feb. 9 at TD Garden. It's the only game in the season series won by the Bruins, 8-6, and featured a fight between Price and his counterpart, Tim Thomas. Hope the Habs can shut them down again and pull even closer to leading the division. -- NHL.com

Here's a classic intro.

Game: Montreal vs Minnesota

All of the injuries have forced Montreal to recall several players from Hamilton of the AHL to fill in lineup spots. The most recent additions are rookie Aaron Palushaj and veteran Nigel Dawes to replace Plekanec and Halpern.

Palushaj was a second-round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft by St. Louis and was traded to Montreal for Matt D'Agostini last season at the trade deadline. He is still looking for his first NHL point after two games. Dawes has now played for five NHL teams in the past three seasons after beginning this year with Atlanta before being traded to Montreal with Sopel on Feb. 24. -- NHL.com

Game: Montreal vs New York Rangers

Montreal lost the game and had to pull Carry Price in the first after letting in 5 goals in 12 shots. We play the Wild on Sunday so all they can do now is prepare for that game and hope to take home some points. Too bad the game couldn't have gone something like this!

Game: Montreal vs Washington

Washington is really hot right now so this is going to be a hard game for the Habs. Ovy is always on his game so we're going to have to keep him covered is we want to take this one. Here's highlights from game #7 of last year when Montreal pushed the Caps out of the playoffs.

Game: Montreal vs Pittsburgh

Montreal plays Pittsburgh on Saturday which should be a very good game seeing as how Crosby and Malkin are both out for the Pens. Unfortunately Pacioretty is still out and I'm guessing still will be for a while but he was released from the hospital so things are looking up for him. Heres a cool video someone made for game 6 of last years playoffs between the two teams.

Final: Montreal finished the game 3 goals ahead of Pittsburgh; Price got his 12th career shutout.

Game: Montreal vs St. Louis

To be completely honest this shouldn't be a hard 2 points for Montreal as the Blues aren't doing too well this season. I'm 99% sure Pacioretty wont be in until at least the playoffs or might even be out for the season which is sad to say seeing as hes been so great lately. Here is the hit from Chara, lets hear your opinions; is this dirty or not?

Game: Montreal vs Boston

This. Is. Going. To. Be. AWESOME! I'd like to apologize for not making a post in the last few days but I've been very busy with school. Moving on, Montreal and Boston have one of the fiercest rivalries in the NHL. Judging by last game this is going to be a boxing match. So far Montreal has taken three of the last games this season and Boston only one. Here's what happened the last time in Boston and yes even the goaltenders got in on the action.

Final: MONTREAL WINS 4-1 WOOOOO! Check out this fight from the game! Also, best wishes to Pacioretty as he left the game on a strecher from a dirty hit from Chara.

Game: Montreal vs Tampa Bay

The game is currently at 2-0 for Montreal with a slap shot from Gill and a backhander from Desharnais! After the first intermission Montreal seems to be dominating which is usual for them as they always come out strong in the first period. After the second each team is up a goal which were both scored on power plays. The Habs take the win with a 4-2 lead!

Pre-game: Montreal vs Tampa Bay

The Canadians play Tampa Bay tomorrow night and judging by the stats this is going to be a very good game. Tampa has taken the last 2 and Montreal the first but the third game went to overtime minutes so we'll have to see what happens on Saturday! Here's a fun brawl that occured in october between the two.

Game: Montreal vs Florida

The game starts at 7:30 ET, check in to stay updated! The Montreal vs Florida stream is up on the right side of the blog.

Update: Hal Gill just put one to the back of the net from the point for Montreal!
Actually it was redirected by Wisniewski or Kostitsyn.

Update: Kostitsyn just put one in from the point!

Intermission: The Habs in that period seemed to have more of an edge with putting pressure in Florida's end of the ice but Florida did have some moments of very good scoring opportunities.

Update: Goal from Desharnais to make the score 3-0.

Intermission: Still a lot of pressure coming from Montreal that Florida can't seem to match.

Update: Pass from Moen and a tip by Eller puts this game at 4-0!

Final: Montreal took the game with a 4-0 lead and Price got his shutout!

Pre-game: Montreal vs Florida

I've decided now that I'm going to do the pre-game blogs the day before so I can make posts more often if there is no important news to report.

Montreal is going to meet Florida on Thursday in their 4th and final match up of the regular season. The Canadians have won 2 of the 3 so far although one did go to overtime. The Habs are missing Spacek due to a knee surgery but he's suspected to be back in time for the Playoffs. The Panthers are falling out of Playoff reach with only 59 points being 10 points out of reach for the last playoff position as of right now. Montreal had Auld start in nets for both of their wins against Florida so we will see who they put in on Thursday. I don't see Montreal having a problem with taking Florida for 2 points tomorrow but anything can happen. Here are some highlights of the last game between the two teams.

Game: Montreal vs Atlanta

In about an hour Montreal is going to be playing Atlanta. We have a 10 point lead on them but I'm mostly looking forward to see who's starting in nets. Price still has the flu so I'm thinking it's going to be Auld and he recently helped pull off a win against the leagues #1 team (Vancouver). We haven't had a win yet this season against Atlanta so we'll see how this goes. In the mean time here's some highlight of the last time we met in Montreal.

Update: MTL leads 2-0 after the second with a slap shot from Pacioretty in the 1st and a snap shot from Wisniewski in the 2nd.

Final: MTL won with a 3-1 lead, the last goal being an empty netter from Gionta.

Trade deadline

Dope save by Drew
So the deadline has passed and the Habs picked up a new goaltender; Drew MacIntyre. I'm interested to see what happens with Auld since in my eyes he's very hit and miss. Although Drew has just been sitting in the AHL for the past two seasons. I'm hoping we can see what he can do for the team sometime soon, maybe he will hit a hot streak and prove better then Price. I was hoping to see more forwards traded to the team like someone who can really be a goal scorer and boost morale when needed. Oh well theres always the draft right.
